About Unit Agreements
A unit agreement combines multiple OCS leases for joint exploration or development of a reservoir or potential hydrocarbon accumulation. Unitization helps prevent waste and protect correlative rights. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) is responsible for approving unit agreements under 30 CFR 250 Subpart M.
